This is our second day at Windsor. I woke up earlier, and after searching online, found out there is a nearby Costa. It was a pleasant 5 min walk from our flat at Fountain Court to the shops area.

Nader and me

We packed our things and our transport came at 10AM. For our ride today, Nader, the owner of UK VIP Chauffeurs, attended to us. I’ve known Nader from my years in SPAD from our various visits to the UK. He gives excellent service. If you need ground transport in the UK, do consider his service (website)

Breakfast at Foggs, Windsor
Breakfast at Foggs, Windsor

Before going for our tour of Windsor Castle, we had breakfast at Foggs, inside Daniel Department Store. It was a cosy little cafe in the middle of Windsor’s shopping district. Since we’re inside a department store, I took the opportunity to get a pair of smartphone-friendly gloves.

Windsor tour with maksu

We started our tour of Windsor Castle around 11AM. Just like our Oxford trip, this visit is to bring maksu and kak long for a  tour of the castle. Although myself and Aliaa have been to Windsor Castle a few times, we are still excited to be here.

After we were done at Windsor, at around 2PM, we made our way to Bicester Village. This is the highlight of our road trip as the ladies were looking forward to some serious shopping.

Le Pain Quotidien at Bicester Village

We had late lunch at Le Pain Quotidien, inside Bicester Village. After a few hours of shopping, we finally left Bicester around 8PM.

We arrived back in London around 9PM.

This morning I decided to try a different cafe for breakfast in West Kensington.

Bonjour Brioche
Bonjour Brioche

I went to Bonjour Brioche, which was just opposite the Costa I normally go. The food was delicious, and the coffee was good too!

Natural History Museum

After breakfast, we took Sofia and Erina to the Natural History Museum. We took Sofia there 2 years ago, but she slept almost throughout the visit. This time, both of them were awake and were able to see the dinosaurs.

After we were done at the museum, we had lunch Chopstix Noodle Bar at South Kensington. It has only been a few days here in the UK, but getting our typical asian food in this cold weather felt really good!

Piccadilly Circus

After lunch, we took the tube to Piccadilly Circus and went sightseeing in the area.

Coffee at Pret
Coffee at Pret

Our day wouldn’t be complete without having coffee at Pret. We found a nice cozy Pret near Piccaddilly.

Later in the evening, we were too tired to go out. I ordered a delivery of McDonalds for everyone. I had my usual Chicken Legend.

Sun 23 Dec 2018
Today was a lazy day for us. The ladies went out shopping and I spent the day taking care of Erina. I took her to get my usual coffee at West Kensington.

Later in the evening, I went for dinner at Best Mangal, a Turkish kebab place near our flat.

Mon 24 Dec 2018
For today’s breakfast, I decided to try a different cafe in West Kensington called The Deli Bar.

I really liked the coffee and the simple breakfast. In the cold weather, toast and scrambled eggs are exactly what you need.

St James Park
St James Park

After breakfast, we took the kids to St James Park. Sofia was very excited to see the ducks. We had a pleasant stroll along the park and passed by Buckingham Palace.

We walked along Green Park and headed towards Piccadilly. We visited Waterstones along the way, and had lunch at Pret.

Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland

In the evening, we went to Winter Wonderland, one of the highlights of our trip. It was very cold, but that’s the whole point of Winter Wonderland! Sofia had fun at the rides, and we managed to find a spot for dinner at one of the cafes.
