For the London part of the trip, we stayed at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. The hotel is definitely way nicer than the one we had in Brussels. I was given a Superior King room with a very comfortable bed.
I woke up early that day and had breakfast at the hotel. The spread was decent (nothing near the fancy selections they had at The Landmark, blogpost here).
Our first meeting of the day was with the National Skills Academy for Rail (NSAR). We met the CEO, Neil Robertson. We discussed collaboration with the newly formed National Rail Centre of Excellence (NRCOE) in Malaysia (it was announced in the Malaysian budget a few months previously).
We had some time before our next meeting, so we went for an early lunch at The Brass Rail, Selfridges. The salt beef sandwich was exactly what we needed. Not too heavy a meal but yet filling enough to last till the evening.
After the early lunch at The Brass Rail, we headed to Euston Station for our train to the National Training Academy for Rail (NTAR) in Northampton.
We were greeted by the manager of NTAR and she gave us a tour of he facilities. This is my second visit here as we visited the facility last year as part of a bigger delegation with Chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid (link here).

My flight leaves later in the evening so I had some time for sightseeing during the day. I took Fadli and Adleen for breakfast at Grangers in Notting Hill. It has been a while since I went there and it’s high time I get my ricotta hotcakes fix!
After breakfast, we walked to Portobello Market. I was looking for some old maps, but after comparing the price and quality, I realised the maps at Stanfords are way better (went there on 25th Sept 2016, blogpost here)
Went to John Lewis to collect some online shopping and later had coffee with Fadli and Adleen at Pret, somewhere along Oxford Street. It was really nice having them during this business trip. It almost feels like a getaway with friends! haha!
In the evening, I headed to Heathrow Terminal 2 for my fight at 10:05PM. My return flight is with Singapore Airlines on Premium Economy. I arrived at the airport early and had a nice meal at Leon, my usual favourite before boarding the flight back home.
