Today is our last day in Bali. Turns out, the weather is pretty good today! The sun is out, and the sky looks clear. We took one last swim in our private pool, and checked out after breakfast. Our flight is at 5PM today, so we had some time before heading to the airport.

We took the hotel shuttle to Kuta. Kuta is a town quite near to Seminyak, and is known for its surfing, beaches, shopping and party life. I’ve heard about the Kuta beach and wanted to check it out.

The beach has a nice Balinese entrance.

I was quite surprised to see the beach wasn’t as clean as I expect it to be. A few years ago I went to Perhentian Island and the beach was cleaner and the sands much softer. As for the crowd, it’s not Bali’s peak season so there were not many people around.

From Kuta beach, we explored the nearby shops and market. I noticed a number of canang sari on the streets. Canang sari are one of the daily offerings made by Balinese Hindus to thank the supreme god Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in praise and prayer. It can be seen in the temples, on small shrines in houses, and on the ground or as a part of a larger offering.

Apart from Canang Sari, visitors to Bali will also see various Hindu shrines. These shrines, varying in sizes, are placed in front of houses, buildings, and some even have their own lot along the streets.

Before leaving Kuta, we had lunch at a cafe with a nice view of Kuta streets.
Our flight back to Kuala Lumpur was at 5PM. All in all we had a relaxing holiday in Bali. Although it rained on some of the days, we managed to see a number of beautiful scenes in the island. I will definitely come back as there are lots more to explore (e.g. northern Bali, Kintamani, etc).
