In the morning we had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast spread was quite okay.
The plan for today was to see some sights within the city. We started off by taking a Didi (China’s version of Uber) to the Bund.
The Didi dropped us at the Qingshan Industry Building. The architecture of the building looks futuristic and impressive.
We went through the building towards the promenade. There was a nice garden overlooking the bund from there.
We took a family photo with the background of the famous Shanghai skyline.
It was a bright sunny day with cool breeze. We walked along the river. Further down, we had coffee at Sinar Mas Plaza (SMP).
After having coffee at Sinar Mas Plaza, we took a Didi to Oriental Pearl Tower.
There were some cafes and gift shops in the area within the Oriental Pearl Tower complex.
From the Oriental Pearl Tower, we walked over to the aquarium. It was quite big. The kids had a good time.
We then took a Didi to Yuyuan bazaar. It is a traditional marketplace with historic 16th century architecture.
We explored the bazaar while getting a few local snacks. We then headed Yuyuan garden, within the same marketplace area. It was a traditional Ming dynasty (16th century) style garden
In the evening, we had dinner at Suolaiman Lan Zhou Beef Noodles. It was a halal restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. The noodles was exactly what we needed in the cold weather.
