The agenda for today was a full-day trip to Disneyland. We had a quick breakfast at the hotel and then booked a taxi for all of us. We wanted to save time (and energy) in getting to the place. The fare was ¥8100 (~MYR240) for 15KM
As we arrived at Disneyland, there were huge crowds waiting for the park to open. Once the park opened at 9AM, the crowds moved in smoothly. Later I found out the crowds were huge only prior to opening time. If you arrived after 9AM (e.g. 9:30AM) there’s hardly any crowds to go in.
The ladies went to get the famous Mickey ears and we started off our visit with the Jungle Cruise ride. It was a nice ride for all of us (including my parents).
We then went on a number of rides before having lunch at the East Side Cafe. I had the steak and it was good.
After lunch we went to a few more rides, including the Star Tours which I thought was cool. It was based on the Star Wars movie series and the ride was futuristic.
We managed to catch the mid-day parade. We didn’t book any seats so we just joined the crowds a bit further from the path.
It was a pity that the main castle was under repairs (as seen in photo above). I tried to remove the renovation using Samsung’s A.I feature, but it didn’t turn out very nice.
Later in the evening we had tea break at one of the cafes. We ordered the famous Mickey Waffle and it was good!
The kids in our group went on as much rides as they could up till around 5PM. The rest of my family left around then as the kids were exhausted. I continued to stay on as I wanted to catch the evening lights show and the closing fireworks
I was surprised to see the Disney castle looking completely fine (no repairs) from the back. We could have taken a nicer family photo here!
The girls went up to the Cinderella castle and took some nice photos.
For the evening lights show, I booked a seat by the sidewalk. We had a good view of the show. I was impressed by how well Disney monetizes things like sidewalk for these sort of shows.
After the lights show, we went to grab some light snacks and then continued watching the closing fireworks. It was a nice closure to our visit. The evening weather was perfect and the crowds throughout the day wasn’t too big.
As everyone was very tired, we took a taxi back to the hotel. The fare back was ¥7000 (~MYR200).
