The plan today was to visit Universal Studios Japan (USJ). We started our day early and headed to the train station.
We purchased our USJ tickets from JTB Malaysia, prior to arriving in Osaka. The total tickets for 3 adults and 2 kids was RM1,332 (excluding fast pass).
Given that we had purchased our tickets, we were able to enter USJ without any queue.
The date of our visit to USJ was suggested by JTB as that’s the day of our selected rides and fast pass. Much to my annoyance, the suggested date coincides with a public holiday in Japan. The crowds were massive and there were long queues for everything. I thought JTB would have advised us on this.
Given the size of USJ and the large crowds, we focused our visit on mainly 2 areas: Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World.
We started our visit at Harry Potter World. The Hogsmeade village was just amazing. Kids were able to play their wands with an interactive game all around the village.
We had lunch at The Three Broomsticks within the Harry Potter World. The quality of the food was amazing. After lunch, I used the fast pass to take Sofia on the Flight of the Hippogriff ride.
We managed to visit a few places outside Harry Potter World. We went to the Sing theater and then to Hello Kitty Boutique.
In the evening, we had dinner at the Jurassic Park cafe. There was a replica of a dinosaur fossil in the middle of the cafe which looked really cool.
From there, we used our fast pass to enter Nintendo World and went on the Mario Kart ride.
Surprisingly despite the fast pass, there was a significant queue. The ride itself was quite entertaining.
On the way back to our apartment, we stopped by the takoyaki store for an evening snack. The kids really enjoyed the tako and the roadside experience.
