I woke up early and went out to have breakfast at Starbucks which is located inside a Tsutaya Bookstore. The bookstore is connected to Kansai University.
Just like other Tsutaya stores, the one I went had nice aesthetics and the books were arranged in an interesting way.
The ambience was very university-like as everyone was quietly minding their own business.
After breakfast, I went back to our condo and headed out with the rest. We stopped by a pet store
As we were walking to the train, there were numerous shops in the underground mall. I couldn’t resist the tasty looking Mannekan Belgian waffles and had to grab one.
Using our Icoca cards, we took the train to Dotonbori. It was relatively near from our location.
Dotonbori was a busy place. It is the main shopping area in Osaka.
Before continuing with our sightseeing, we had lunch at Hoshino Coffee. We were hoping to go to one of the traditional Japanese restaurants, but they were all full and had long queues.
After lunch, we walked past the famous Running Man at Dotonburi.
After the bridge, we explored Shinsaibashi-Suji. It’s a giant shopping arcade adjacent to Dotonburi and one of the oldest in Osaka area. Apparently the shopping arcade has been around for 380 years!
We walked along Shinsaibashi and passed by many interesting shops.
Towards the end of Shinsaibashi, we went into Daimaru. I have come to appreciate how awesome Japanese department stores are.
We had teatime at Tuffe Cafe in Daimaru. We also sat there for a bit to rest from walking all afternoon.
After teatime, we explored Daimaru. The kids had fun at the toy section.
In the evening, on the way back to our apartment, we stopped by Hankyu San Bangai for dinner. I decided to have the same dish for dinner because it was just so good.
